Brochure Printing: Design and Layout Tips for Tri-folds

Brochure printing is only as effective if you know who your market is, how you can capably reach them through your brochures, how to print them properly, and how you can design and layout your brochures.

The Function of Design and Layout
Design and layout are two important aspects you should always place for your brochures. If you have the capability to print just any kind of brochure in high-quality, while it may exude that brand of quality, it may not exactly capture the interest of your target audience.

It is through design that you can initiate a conversation with your target audience. It is with your colors, your graphics, your headlines that you first communicate with your clients and potential buyers.

And so, with an effective and interesting design, you can encourage your clients to read further through a functional layout. This assists your readers to take in everything on your brochure.

Tri-fold Brochure Tips
Tri-fold brochures can be a bit tricky if you don’t know how to properly orient yourself on which sides of the paper will appear or remain hidden.

1. To help you properly start out in your brochure, it is wise to upload the template from a brochure printing company who can provide you with an accurate layout. This lay out includes bleeds and some guide lines.

2. The guide lines I am referring to are the trim line and the safety zone. The templates come with these lines so you can visibly see and work within the limits of the brochures.

The trim line demonstrates the exact size your brochures will be cut into. While the safety zone shows the workable area where you should put your important graphics and texts.

However, the colors and images of your design should be extended up to the bleed, so that when your brochures are cut to size, no white area appears.

3. On another note, the guide lines can also show where the folds in your tri-fold brochures are so you can avoid placing important details or texts that may get caught up in the crease.

4. Tri-fold brochures are divided into panels because of the folding that divides the paper into sections. Know that printers mean different when describing front, back, inside and outside.

5. The front panel appears as the first page that your clients can see. This where you place your attractive messages and images to catch the interest of your target market.

6. The back panel appears when you flip the folded brochure over. This is the part where most companies or business put in their return mailing address. Since this part is not as visible as the others, you can freely summarize your contents here or repeat you contact information in such area.

7. The tri-fold brochure opens up completely, so you can either choose to design the whole page as though it were a pin-up poster or you can use the panels and organize the flow of your content according to sections.

8. Brochures can be oriented vertically or horizontally. It can even be a combination of sorts.

9. Create a consistent color scheme throughout your brochures.

10. Your brochures can be kept for future reference and may be read more than once. Make sure that you brochures don’t look busy with too much text. Punctuate your brochures with illustrations or images to make them more engrossed at reading your brochures.

There are more ideas on brochure printing which you can appropriately apply for your needs. Professional printing companies are a great source for articles to help you with your brochure printing. At the same time, you can find just how a printing company can truly be your partner before, during and even after printing
